Proposal

The topic I want to argue about is the importance of daily exercise, and why people should implement exercise in their daily lives. I feel like this topic is very important nowadays and I think many people aren’t as informed about the benefits. I have lots of information and facts behind the science of exercise and it’s something that’s changed my life. This topic can be directed to every age audience as exercise benefits anyone and everyone can do it. This topic also ties in with my major which is exercise physiology, so it’s something that I care about and want to expand my knowledge on. I also work at the WREC, the university’s gym and feel like I have worked and met a lot of people regarding this topic so I have lots of ideas behind it. So in my argument, I want to ideally target a person who doesn’t exercise at all and doesn’t like it. I want to first explain the self-improvement behind exercise, such as physically and emotionally, and maybe socially. I want to start my argument by showing them that exercise can change the way they look at themselves in a mirror, how they feel, also the confidence it brings. I then want to transition my argument to the health benefits that come with exercising and what it will do to your short term and long term. Here I can bring in factual information and science that backs up my statements. To persuade my audience I want to use different persuasive tactics such as logos, pathos, and ethos. To conclude I will bring in other benefits that come from exercise such as daily life improvement. Which may be an improvement in academics, reasoning, stress, and other ideas. I overall feel like I can deliver a strong argument behind this topic and convince someone into changing their lifestyle around. In my argument, I also might bring in my personal experience with exercise and explain how it’s changed my life drastically. I think that exercise can heal you emotionally and physically and overall make you stronger. Overall there is lots of new research and ideas behind exercise and feel like I want to deepen my knowledge and deliver a good argument.
