The clothing brand that I chose was Gymshark. Gymshark is a fitness-based culture clothing brand that creates fitness attire for consumers. They have many designs and options available to the typical fitness enthusiast. The brand was created by Ben Francis, while he was a full-time university student and part-time pizza delivery boy. He made this brand surrounding the fitness industry and wanted to create the best technology for exercise. At the time he knew that fitness was his passion but wanted others to see the good side in exercise. When he initially started the company he didn’t have a lot of money to invest in it, thus everything he made he put it back into the company. He managed to create a successful business because of his social media approach to the company. Ben began to sponsor different social media stars that prompted his brand. Before he knew it millions of people around the world were wearing his brand. In 2017 gymshark made over 51 million dollars in revenue sales. But what overall made Gymshark so special and unique was the message that it carried, they didn’t want a shirt to just be a regular shirt, but rather have meaning. They wanted to promote healthy lifestyles and get people up and moving. Ben over the years has saved people’s lives and has allowed them to love who they are. In a way it united people who wanted to be active, it allowed them to share their progress via social media or in real-life interactions. Overtime Gymshark’s social media has made a big impact on the fitness industry and has influenced a lot of people’s lives. Gymshark uses a variety of materials for their products. For women’s clothes, they mainly use Nylon and Elastane, which is a very stretchy and thin material. For men, it’s more common to see Polyester and Elastane. Overtime Gymshark has gone the more eco-friendly way and has reduced its footprint by making sure they are making their inventory just the right amount. One business tactic that has worked overtime for them is that they drop limited amounts of clothes and every time they sell out. This is due because there is a high demand, thus they can match it with the supply. Gymshark as a brand has been used in every country around the world, so people can connect and see how this bread has changed their life. Overall I think Gymshark is a very sustainable company as the fitness world is only becoming more popular over time and more people want to change. I am also a consumer of Gymshark and can say that their products are the best in the fitness industry and allow you to enjoy working out and expressing yourself. But what makes this company so strong is the community of people behind it and them carrying on the message behind the brand and most importantly inspiring people. In conclusion, Gymshark’s ability to use social media in portraying a positive message has allowed them to be what they’ve evolved into.
